Updated: Apr 24, 2019

In this blog post, we hope to offer some suggestions that can help you choose the right pressure washing company for your home or business.

Choosing a Pressure Washing Company Can Be Confusing

These days, the internet is crowded with many different businesses and flashy advertisements promising you millions of dollars by the end of the week if you just signup now. So how do you sort through all these businesses and find a real company that will provide you with a reputable service when you need them? This task can quickly leave you frustrated and overwhelmed. But stress not, there are still companies out there who provide a quality service and treat customers and their properties with respect.

Referrals from Friends is Still a Great Way to Find Services like Pressure Washing

Word of mouth is Dykes Pressure Cleaning biggest form of marketing and the same will be true of most businesses that do an all around good job. Because quality work is so hard to find, when someone comes across it, they tell their family and friends about it. If you are thinking about having some pressure washing work done around the house, ask a few friends or family members and get their feedback. They will certainly tell you about their experience with a company, good or bad.

Searching Online for a Pressure Washing Company

There is so much information available right at our fingertips, but it can be difficult to sift through and find the information that is relevant to you. Here are a couple tips for what to look for when searching online.

Search engines use keywords, your location, and other factors to provide you with the info you are searching for, so keep that in mind when typing in your search terms. When on the map section (shown on the left), look for the pressure washing companies reviews. There will typically be a huge list of businesses. Skim through and look for the businesses with the highest reviews; or there is an option to sort by "Top rated". Just using the reviews as aguide alone, will make a few businesses stand out as the dominant ones for that area. These are more than likely where you want to start. The image on the left shows the actual Google search results from searching "pressure washing new smyrna beach fl". There will be some differences depending on your location, phone-type, past search history, etc., but the general concept is the same.

Next, there will be an icon showing if the business has a website. After you have narrowed down your search with the reviews, take the best of those and check out their websites. Here, you can more thoroughly research those companies. On our website,, we have a portfolio page where we have businesses we have worked with, customer reviews from multiple different platforms, and pictures of our work.

Use Social Media to Find a Pressure Washing Service

Like everyone else, most businesses have social media pages. You can look on sites like Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube for the pressure washing business's page to see pictures, videos, more reviews, and a whole lot more. You can learn a lot about a businesses by looking at what they are posting, like content about themselves, their employees, jobs they are working on, etc.

Pick a Power Washing Company that is Licensed and Insured

Make sure that the pressure washing company you choose is licensed and insured. No one is planning on having an accident or causing damages, but these things happen. Choosing an experienced professional with good reviews and references, and who is licensed and insured, will highly reduce the probability of accidents. However, if something does go wrong, you will at least of the peace of mind that comes with insurance and proper licensing.

Price Always Matters when Choosing a Pressure Washing Company

Last, but certainly not least, is the price. It costs a business more money to be licensed and insured, maintain a professional staff and appearance, and have quality equipment. So typically, these pressure washing companies aren't going to be the cheapest in town; the guy who has an old pressure washer in his truck will be the cheapest. However, choosing a pressure washing company with experience, insurance, and licensing will ultimately cost you less. They will cost you less in not having to have the work redone, their results usually last longer, and they won't run off if they accidentally damage a sprinkler.

You get what you pay for but shouldn’t have to overpay either. As a reference point, our prices start at:

  • Driveway and Sidewalks - $100

  • Home Exterior and Driveway or Sidewalk Package - $250

  • Pool Deck and Enclosure - $200-250

  • Flat Work or Larger Jobs - $.10 per sq. ft.

They may also have a bit of work lined up ahead of you because there is a demand for their service. Because of this, they may not be able to do the work the next day, but they will be worth the wait.

So, the quote that is much cheaper and can start right away may be too good to be true. Use your discretion.
